ABS Module Lab

How mail-in ABS repair works

From your driveway to our Arlington, Texas bench and back — with an email at every step.

A sealed shipping box, a bare ABS module and the module sealed in an anti-static bag, in a row on a bench
  1. A flashlight beam picking out an ABS unit mounted in an engine bay
    1

Look up your module and order

Type the part number from the module label, or pick your vehicle. Choose a repair or a refurbished unit, fill in one short form and pay securely — your RMA number comes by email as soon as you submit.

  2. Gloved hands sealing a plain shipping box with tape on a garage workbench
    2

Ship it with our prepaid label

We buy the inbound label and email it to you. Disconnect the battery and remove the module — on some units just the electronic control unit, on others the whole assembly; send us a photo if you’re not sure. Pack it padded and drop it off.

  3. An opened ABS control module under a magnifier lamp while a gloved hand works on its board

Bench repair — about a week

We read the module, find the fault and repair it. Past repair? We stop and ask: a refurbished unit with your data cloned on (you pay only the difference), or your module back with the repair price refunded minus shipping. Rush repair targets 2–3 business days.

  4. Gloved hands reconnecting the wiring connector to an ABS module in an engine bay
    4

Back to you, coded to your car

It ships back at the speed you chose, carrying your vehicle’s data, with a 1-year warranty. Plug it in, clear the codes, and run the ABS checks your scan tool calls for.

What happens on the bench

  1. Check-in. We match the module to your RMA, photograph the label and read the part numbers.
  2. Read and test. We power it on the bench, read its stored data and fault memory, and test the pump-motor and valve circuits under load.
  3. Repair — or refurbish. We fix the fault we find. If the module is past repair, we stop and ask before doing anything else.
  4. Final test and ship. It is tested again on the bench, packed, and shipped at the speed you chose; the tracking number comes by email.

Want it sooner? Rush repair puts it ahead of the queue.

Our promise

Can’t be repaired? You don’t pay for a repair.

If the bench finds your module past repair, we stop and tell you before doing anything else. Then you choose:

  1. 1A replacement — a refurbished unit of the same family with your VIN, coding and configuration cloned onto it, from $950. You pay only the difference from what you already paid, and we confirm the amount with you first.
  2. 2Your module back — with the repair price refunded, minus shipping costs.

Either way, nothing that changes your price happens without your OK.

Frequently asked questions

Who pays for shipping?

We buy the inbound label and email it to you after payment. You choose the return speed at checkout: $29.95 3–5 business days, $54.95 2 business days, $94.95 next business day.

How long will my car be without ABS?

Plan on the bench time (about a week, or 2–3 business days with rush repair) plus shipping both ways. Whether the vehicle can be driven while the module is out depends on what you remove — if the brake lines are opened, it cannot. Check your owner’s manual and, if in doubt, leave it parked until the module is back.

What if it cannot be repaired?

If your module cannot be repaired, we tell you before doing anything else. You choose: a replacement — a refurbished unit of the same family with your data cloned onto it, from $950 (you pay only the difference from what you already paid, and we confirm it first) — or your module back with the repair price refunded minus shipping costs.

Is $499 really the price?

It’s the starting price for the repair, charged at checkout, plus your return shipping. If the bench finds more work than your service covers, we tell you the cost first. You approve it, have the module returned, or cancel under our refund terms — nothing that changes the price happens without your OK.

Why can’t you ship me a unit first?

No advance exchange: your original module has to reach the bench first, because your vehicle’s data (VIN, coding and configuration) is read out of it and written into the refurbished unit. That is what lets the refurbished module install like your own.

Does the module need programming after it comes back?

No dealer visit for coding: a repaired module keeps its own data, and a refurbished unit is written with yours before it ships. After installing, clear the stored codes and run the checks your scan tool calls for — some vehicles also want a brake bleed or a sensor calibration.

ABS light on? Fix the module you already own.

Look up your part number and order online — we email you a prepaid label to our lab. Or send us a photo of the label and your VIN first, and we'll tell you what you have and what it costs.
