Effective October 2026
This page explains what ABS Module Lab collects when you order a repair or send us a question, why, and who else handles it to get your module repaired and back to you.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, shop name if you give one, email, phone and return address; the year, make and model; and, if you give them, the VIN, the part number on the module label, fault codes, what the ABS system is doing and any notes. We also record the service, bench speed, warranty and return shipping you choose.
- When you use a question, quote, status or warranty form: your name and email, and whatever else you fill in — phone, shop name, part number, vehicle, VIN, codes, RMA number, your message and up to three photos.
- From your module: the data stored in it, such as the VIN and configuration, read on the bench (see below).
- When you browse the site: basic page-view analytics — which pages are viewed and where visitors came from. We don't use advertising cookies.
How we use it
To perform the service: confirming orders, diagnosing modules, sending status updates, returning shipments, and honoring the warranty. Order emails are about your order, including one email after delivery asking how we did. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to marketing lists you didn't ask for.
Who else handles it
Only the services needed to deliver the repair, each receiving only what its job needs:
- Square (payments). You pay on Square's secure checkout page. Your card details go to Square, not to us; we never see or store full card numbers. We send Square your name, email, phone, RMA number, the part number and the options you chose, and Square's checkout asks for a shipping address.
- Shippo, USPS and UPS (shipping labels). To buy the prepaid label to our lab and your return label, we send Shippo your name, return address, phone and email. The carrier receives what is on the label. Tracking updates come back to us and move your order status.
- SendGrid (email delivery). It delivers our emails to you, so it receives your email address and the content of each message.
- Our order records. Orders, their status history and the emails sent about them are kept in our own order database. It powers your order status page and lets us honor the warranty.
- Our team. New orders and messages reach our staff by email and through a private team messaging channel, including any photos you attach. When you send a question through a form, an AI-assisted tool may draft a suggested reply from your message; a person reviews it before anything is sent.
We comply with valid legal process.
Your order status page
The status link in your order emails is unique to your order. The page shows your RMA number, your first name, the service, the stages and their dates, and the tracking numbers. It does not show payment details or your full address.
Data stored in your module
The VIN and configuration stored in your ABS module are read only to perform the service (for example, to write them into a refurbished unit), never shared, and kept only as long as needed to support the warranty.
Retention & your choices
Order records are retained for warranty service and tax/accounting requirements. Email repairs@absmodulelab.com to access or delete your contact information; we honor deletion except where records must be kept by law.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update it on this page and change the date at the top.
